Los de este linaje fueron Señores de la villa de Praviano, lugar de Behetira, en la antigua Merindad de Saldaña (Palencia), donde fundaron casa solariega. Poseyeron también el lugar de Buestiello, cercano a Sovilla, que es del Ayuntamiento del Valle de San Felices y partido judicial de Torrelavega (Santander), y los de Peña, Albiella, Valle de San Martín y otros de la Merindad de Aguilar de Campóo. Adoptaron el apellido G. por haber alcanzado un varón de este linaje una señalada victoria sobre los moros en el río Guadiana, a la entrada de un puente, junto a Calatrava. También se hallaron en la toma de Ubeda, quedando en esta ciudad como pobladores de ella. Moraron igualmente en Baeza, Medina de Pomar y Aguilar de Campóo. En 1446, por sentencia fechada en la citada ciudad de Ubeda, fueron declarados hijosdalgo Gonzalo González de G. y su hermano Fernán González de G.; Suer González de G. y Martín de G., todos los cuales son citados en el "Libro del Becerro" como heredados en la ya citada villa de Praviano, que era lugar de behetria en la Merindad de Saldaña (Palencia). ...
