Scrisse Marianna, e narrò la sua vita agiata nel romanzo "le page disgracié". Fu preposto dei Marescialli di Francia sotto Carlo VII e Luigi XI. Fu prode guerriero nella guerra dei cento anni e nella guerra di Guyana. Cadde in disgrazia alla morte di Luigi XI. Trasferitasi in Italia vi mantenne quel lustro e decoro, sua nobile tradizione. Il grand'ufficiale avvocato Francesco Hermite fu valorosissimo giurista. Raggiunse nella Magistratura inquirente l'altissimo posto di Procuratore generale.
