Nobility crown HurtadoLa mayor parte de los autores y tratadistas, para explicar el origen de este apellido, acuden a la conocida historia de los amores ocultos de la Infanta doña Urraca, hija del Rey don Alonso VI; y del nacimiento de un niño que, por haber permanecido oculto durante mucho tiempo, fué llamado el Hurtado. Pero este origen legendario, y que pudiéramos llamar tradicional, no es de los H. en general, sino de los H. de Mendoza, noble e ilustre familia. El apellido H., de que ahora nos ocupamos, se halla muy extendido por España, presentando todas las características de un verdadero patronímico. En la villa de Palomares del Campo (Cuenca), moró una familia de este apellido, y de ella fué Diego H., marido de doña Teresa García, y ambos padres de Alvaro H. y García, casado con doña Inés del Ala, a la que hizo madre de Juan H. y del Ala, que contrajo matrimonio con doña María de Modoya, naciendo de esa unión Melchor H. y Modoya, vecino de Palomares, que el 28 de Noviembre de 1564 obtuvo ejecutoria de nobleza en la Real Chancillería de Granada. Otra tuvo casa principal en la ciudad de Toledo y a ella perteneció Alonso H., natural de Toledo, marido de doña Ana del Aguila, de igual naturaleza, y ambos padres de Alonso H. del Aguila, natural de Toledo, que casó con doña Magdalena del Castillo y Chaves, natural de Chachajoyás, en el Perú (hija de Alvaro del Castillo, natural de Ajofrín, en la misma provincia de Toledo, y de doña María de Chaves, natural de Chachajoyás). ...
