Nobility crown LauschCette maison, dit Lainé, issue d'ancienne chevalerie, originaire du Béarn, s'est établie en Périgord depuis l'année 1423, et il ajoute: Elle a produit des capitaines d'hommes d'armes, des gouverneurs de places, deux gentilshommes de la chambre du roi, un lieutenat-général des armées, des maréchaux de camps, des brigadiers, des capitaines de vaisseaux et autres officiers marquants, des commandeurs et un grand'croix de Saint-Louis, plusieurs chevaliers du même ordre et de celui de Malte, et un commandeur souverain de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem, de 1701. L'Eglise lui doit un évêque de Bayonne en 1470, un autre de Digne, mort en 1766, et l'illustre archevêque d'Arles, qui fut massacré, le 2 septembre 1793, dans l'église des Carmes, avec cent quatre-vingt-cinq prêtes. En vertu de preuves faites au cabinet du Saint-Esprit, cette famille a été admise aux honneurs de la cour en 1757, 1769, 1770 et 1773; elle a été maintenue dans sa noblesse à la grande recherche de 1666, et, aux États-Généraux de 1789, on voit parmi les votants ainsi inscrits: " Très haut et très puissant seigneur Mgr Jean Baptiste, comte, maréchal des camps et armées du roi, inspecteur d'infanterie, commandeur des Ordres royaux et militaires de Saint-Louis, de Notre-Dame du Montcarmel et de Saint-Lazare, gentilhomme d'honneur de Monsieur frère du roi, seigneur des fiefs de la Coste et la Roussière; et très haut et très puissant seigneur Mgr Henri-Louis, vicomte, seigneur de Montardit, la Couture, la Selle, Betrix et en partie du Grand-Brassac, ancien colonel de cavalerie et chevalier de l'Ordre royal et militaire de Saint-Louis. ...
