Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la repoblación de Castilla del siglo XII, siendo una de las 100 familias que se les otorgó la zona de Segovia. Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de el descubrimiento de las islas Marquesas (Océano Pacífico), siendo uno de los oficiales al servicio de Don Alvaro de Mendaña, Adelantado del mar Océano. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Leante. Son sus armas: En azur, un roble al natural, acostado de dos aspas de plata y cantonado de cuatro calderas de oro. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia L., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento caldera es el símbolo de la grandeza. Las copas, jarros y calderas, así como otras vasijas que servían para el manejo de vituallas, eran antiguamente la marca de ricohome en España. Viene su origen del pendón y calderas que entregaban los Reyes a aquellos magnates que consideraban Grandes del Reino, teniendo entre sus facultades privativas, la de levantar y sostener tropas a sus expensas. Los esmaltes del arma de los L. pregonan los siguientes valores: el Azur corresponde al símbolo del agua, de la continuidad de la vida, es un color de nobleza, belleza, castidad y fidelidad, además otras virtudes caracterizaban a la familia, tales como la abundancia económica, la perseverancia, la suerte, la fama y el afán de victoria. ...
