Nobility crown LiprandoPubbliche e private memorie indicano la famiglia discendere dall'ora estinta Nobile casa Aliprandi di Milano, detta prima, come si ha in una iscrizione del 1131, Liprando, della quale porta tuttavia l'arme primitiva, come portò un tempo anche il cognome. Prima della metà del secolo decimoterzo, secondo alcune memorie, e per altri non ispregievoli indizj, nel secolo duodecimo forse al tempo della distruzione di Milano fatta eseguire dall'Im. Federico Barbarossa, essa si divise dal suo ceppo, e trapiantata in Clusone nel Bergamasco, fu poi chiamata Fanzago, Fanzaga, Fansaga e de Fanzaghi, e raramente Franzaga e Dei Fanzalei, e seguì il partito Guelfo. Nel 1445 apparteneva a Verona, ed era anche ascritta all'illustre sua cittadinanza, conferitale per decreto del Nob. Consiglio il 23 aprile 1445.
