La famiglia Manfroni o Manfrone nel secolo XVI si vede fiorire in Val di Sole nel Trentino e precisamente a Caldés nel castello che era stato dei conti Thun. Nel 1554 l'imperatore Ferdinando ne riconobbe i titoli nobiliari. Ma un incendio della chiesa parrocchiale di Caldés non permise la ricostruzione dell'albero genealogico di questa famiglia la quale perciò non è in grado di poter documentare la sua derivazione dai Manfroni romagnoli e condottieri d'armi. Un diploma del 23 maggio 1726 dell'imperatore Carlo VI concede ai fratelli Giovani Giacomo, Giovanni Federico e Giuseppe Antonio l'amplificazione dello stemma, il predicato di Manfort ed il titolo di cavaliere col diritto di chiamarsi e farsi chiamare nobili di Manfort e cavalieri del S.R.I.*. *Sacro Romano Impero, nome ufficialmente assunto dal ricostituito Impero Romano d'Occidente dopo la solenne incoronazione di Carlo Magno avvenuto in Roma (800). ...
