Apellido catalán, con casa en la ciudad de Reus (Barcelona). En Castilla, sin duda por corrupción del vocablo, lo llaman Marañosa. Ramón de M., natural de Reus y Caballero del hábito de San Juan, tuvo este hijo en doña N. Arañé José de M. y Arañé, natural de Reus, esposo de doña Hipólita Granada, y ambos padres de Ramón de M. y Granada, que sigue, y Guiomar de M. y Granada, casada con Francisco Marata, del hábito de San Juan, que la hizo madres de Antonia Marata y M., bautizada en Almenar (Lérida), el 30 de Diciembre de 1683, y sepultada el 21 de Junio de 1768. Fué Señora del hábito de San Juan, ingresada en 1693 y Subpriora. Ramón de M. y Granada, natural de Reus, fué Doctor en Derecho, asentado como noble en los padrones del Ayuntamiento. Falleció bajo disposición testamentaria ante Rafael Viver, cura rector en las casas de la rectoría de Anglesola, villa del partido judicial de Cervera (Lérida), el 6 de Junio de 1622. Contrajo matrimonio con doña María Guiu y Sagarra, natural de Lérida, y fueron padres de Juan de M. y Guiu, que sigue, y Francisca Hipólita Clara de M. y Guiu, bautizada en Lérida, el 12 de Agosto de 1685, y casada en la parroquia de Santa Magdalena de Lérida, el 21 de Junio de 1708 con José Francisco de Moxó. Dejó larga descendencia. Juan de M. y Guiu nació en Lérida y contrajo matrimonio con doña María Clara de Moxó y Borrás. De esa unión nacieron Antonio de M. y Moxó, que sigue, y Raimunda de M. y Moxó, esposa de Joaquín de Kessel, Brigadier. ...
