Antichissimo casato, i cui membri ebbero molto lustro a Faenza, sotto i principi Manfredi, dei quali godettero l'amicizia e la stima. Astorre, Martino ed Odofredo Marcuzzi furono loro capitani e consiglieri. Quando i Manfredi decaddero, sotto i fieri colpi del Valentino, ai Marcuzzi toccò l'esilio e la confisca dei beni.
