Nobility crown MarmoBenito M. natural de Sevilla, soltero, hijo de Bernardo de Cumo Campos y de Ana M, emprendió viaje a Santo Domingo el 13 enero 1579 desde el puerto de Sevilla, según consta en el Archivo General de Indias. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en las fiestas llevadas a cabo en 1219 en los alrededores del monasterio de Huelgas (Burgos), con motivo de las celebraciones por armar caballero a Fernando III, hijo de Alfonso VIII y Doña Leonor de Plantagenet. Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de la celebración de las fiestas y justas que se celebraron en Madrid con motivo de la venida de D. Carlos, príncipe de Gales, hijo de Jacobo I, en tiempos de Felipe IV. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Marmo. ...
