Nobility crown Martínez De AlegríaJuan M. de Alegría, natural de Alegría de Álava, fué esposo de doña Catalina López Burunsano, a la que hizo madre de Francisco M. de Alegría y López Burunsano, natural de Alegría de Álava, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Clara Lorenza Fernández, de igual naturaleza, naciendo de esta unión Blas Ignacio M. de Alegría y Fernández, naturall de Alegría de Álava y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en 1702. Apellido patronímico, derivado del nombre propio de M., por lo que no tienen relación entre sí las distintas familias que usan este nombre en toda España y América. Su casa más antiguas son las de Galicia y Asturias, extendidas después por otras regiones españolas. Son sus armas: Escudo cortinado: primero, de plata, con una cruz floreteada de gules, segundo, de oro, con dos lobos de sable, andantes, uno sobre otro, y tercero, o chapé, de azur, con dos calderas de oro, surmontadas de una flor de lis del mismo metal.
