Nobility crown MartinencheTrès illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, vivant en 1513, épouse Perrine du Boispéan. On trouve Jean, exempt et anobli par lettre de grâce du duc, à la réformation de 1450, paroisse de Fougeray; Raoul, avocat et alloué au présidial de Rennes en 1579; époux de Julienne Frogerais, anobli en 1595, père de René, conseiller au parlement en 1609; un maître des comptes en 1647; un évêque des missions étrangères, vicaire, apostolique du Kiang-Si, mort en 1715; François, marié à Jacquette Chalumeau, maître d'hôtel ordinaire du Roi, sénéchal de Guérande, anobli en 1651. Les seigneurs de la Salle, de Saint-Dénac et de Kervrénel, paroisse de Saint-Molf, de la Saudrais, de Kerméanec, de Cabéno et de Châteaulou, paroisse de Saint-André des Eaux, déboutés à la réformation de 1669, ressort de Guérande; un lieutenant de la louveterie au comté nantais en 1671; un lieutenant au siège royal des traites de Nantes en 1697; un correcteur des comptes en 1723, maître en 1726. On trouve en Provence une famille du même nom, mais nous ne saurions dire s'il existe une communauté d'origine entre les Martin de la Bretgane et ceux de la Provence. Elle a donné Pierre, l'un des ancêtres du chef actuel de cette famille, et descendant de Jacques, écuyer, décédé au commencement du XVIème siècle, et de dame de Barthy, quitta la résidence de Marseille et vint s'établir à Saint-Baptiste-Joachim, tous deux revêtus du titre d'avocat, y ont exercé successivement et sans interruption le notariat et rempli les fonctions de maire. Jean-Baptiste-Joachim épousa à Marseille, le 14 février 1792, Marie-Elisabeth Modeste de Caire, fille de noble Joseph de Caire, avocat, et d'Elisabeth Julien, sa femme, dont Joseph-Bonaventure, chef actuel de nom et d'armes. ...
