Nobility crown MellanderOn trouve ce nom écrit Maillan, Malian, Mailhan, Mallian, et plus correctement Malhan avec la même Prononciation. Très ancienne maison du Vivarais établie aux environs d'Aubenas et dont la Chenaye-des-Bois fait remonter la filiation au XIIIème siècle. Pons premier du nom, seigneur de Saint-Montan, Rochechérie et Chateauneuf, et noble Pons d'Antraigues, passèrent une transaction pour une cense de six deniers sur une vigne située au terroir de Marconnave, le 12 des calendes de décembre 1266. On lui connaît cinq fils, dont trois chanoines de Viviers; l'aîné, André, qui posséda les trois terres susdites, et dont l'arrière-petite-fille, Bonnelle de Maillan, épousa successivement, en 1394, Eustache de Fay, seigneur de Veaune, puis, vers 1406, Pierre de Serrescudier, dont elle eut une fille, mariée à François d'Arlempde, à qui elle porta ces trois terres: d'eux descendaient les marquis de Mirabel; le cadet, Pierre de Mailhan, qui fut seigneur de La Champ, au mandement de Boulogne, et vivait de 1266 à 1290. Son fils, Guillaume, damoiseau, rendit hommage, en 1321, au comte de Valentinois, pour cette terre de La Champ, et fut père de Jean, père d'autre Pons, celui-ci de Falcon de Mailhan, seigneur de La Champ, qui fut père de Philippa, dame de La Champ, qui épousa, le 8 septembre 1421, Jean Matalot. Leur fils substitués aux biens de la maison de Mailhan, en adoptèrent les noms et les armes. Jean Matalot laissa deux fils: Imbert et Barthélemy. Imbert fut père de Antoine et de Claude, auteur d'un rameau établi à la Figuière, paroisse de Saint-Andéol-de-Bourlenc, et qui finit en la personne de Marie de Mailhan, qui épousa, en 1636, Jean du Puy. Antoine eut, de Jeanne de Rochessauve, Laurent de Mailhan. Laurent épousa, en 1539, Magdeleine du Cheylard et en eut Gratian. Cette maison fut maintenue dans sa noblesse, le 10 juillet 1669. ...
