Il Senato Veneto con decreto 14 marzo 1739 impresse in perpetuità il titolo di conte del feudo di Scodovacca, posseduto dalla famiglia e il 17 marzo stesso ordinò la iscrizione col titolo di Conte nell'A.L.T. del can. Giorgio e di Lunardo, Iseppo, Antonio e Francesco di Nicolò. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia, inoltre, ci testimonia una nobiltà raggiunta dalla casata, in tempi ancor precedenti. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, e durante i tornei stessi.
