Apellido de origen castellano afincado en la isla de Gran Canaria a principios del siglo XVIII. Don Migule Fernández M. y su esposa Doña Angela Navarro, ambos de Gran Canaria, fueron padres legitímos de Don Bartolomé Fernández M. y Navarro, que se trasladó a Veneuela y casó en la iglesia parroquial de Buen Jesús, de Petara, el 13 de agosto de 1746, con Doña María Ignacia Hernández Fernández, hija de Don Gaspar Hernández y de Doña Brígida Fernández. De esta matrimonio nació Don Francisco José M. Hernández, en 24 d mayo de 1750 y casó en la iglesia parroquil de San Juan Bautista, de Aragua de Barcelona (Estado Anzoátegui), el año 1789 con Doña María Perfecta Burgos de Villasana, natural de San Carlos (Estado Cojedes), hija de españolos, quienes tuvieron una larga descendencia. Fue su primogénito el General de División Don José Tadeo M. Burgos, que nació el 28 de octubre de 1785. Destacado político venezolano, acupó la presidencia de la República de Venezuela en dos períodos; del 1 de marzo de 1847 al 20 de enero de 1851 y del 31 de enero de 1855 al 15 de marzo de 1858, siendo nombrado de nuevo el año 1868, sin que pudiera tomar posesión del cargo, por haber fallecido antes de su proclamación. Estuvo casado con Doña Luisa Oriach Guevara, de la que tuvo descendencia. Don José Tadeo tuvo otros diez hermanos, que fueron: Doña María Celestina, Doña María Eufenia, Don José Gregorio, Don Antonio Gerardo, Doña María de los Reyes, Don Francisco José, Doña María Rosaura. ...
