Nobility crown MoncayoEste linaje procede del de Asiain. Ramiro Sánchez de Asiain, Richombre de Navarra y Señor de Asiain, Urrós y otros lugares del mismo reino, y de los Fayos, Santa Cruz, Torrellas y Maleján, en Aragón, fué enviado en rehenes por el Rey don Carlos II de Navarra al Monarca don Pedro IV de Aragón. Más tarde, en1379, fué Embajador en Castilla. Al regresar a Navarra, en 1381, tuvo un desafío con Mosén Fillot de Agramunt, y el citado Rey don Carlos, en castigo, le hizo degollar en Tafalla. Había casado dicho caballero con doña Aldonza de Gurrea, Señora de los Fayos, y fueron padres de Juan Fernández de Asiain por ser el progenitor del linaje que nos ocupa; de García Ramírez, Ricohombre de Navarra y Señor de los palacios de Asiain; de Aldonza, que fué Señora de los Fayos, Santa Cruz y Torrellas, esposa de Pedro López de Gurrea, con sucesión; de Inés, esposa de Martín Enríquez de la Carra, primer Mariscal de Navarra, y de Juana, casada con Berenguer de Ariño, sin hijos. Juan Fernández de Asiain recobró un castillo sito en la falda del famoso monte aragonés llamado el Moncayo, y por esta causa comenzó a llamarse Juan de M. Fué Señor de Malejón, de la villa de Albalate y de los Castillos y lugares de Alcalá de Ebro, Bureta, Llamosa y Ruy de Cinca. Desempeñó los cargos de Camarero Mayor del Rey don Martín I, Mayordomo y Consejero de los Monarcas don Fernando III "el Honesto" y su hijo don Alonso, Gobernador de Aragón y Alcaide del Castillo de Mallén, donde estaba preso don Fadrique. ...
