Nobility crown MorettiNobilissima famiglia lombarda, passata in Reggio Emilia, nella prima metà del sec. XVIII, con un Giuseppe Moretti, già morto prima del 1752, come detto in alcuni documenti milanesi. I Moretti, in quell'epoca, erano mercanti e, come tali, sono menzionati i figli di Giuseppe: Giambattista e Pietro. Quest'ultimo sarebbe stato ascritto all'arte della seta e, nel 1732 ebbe, dalla Comunità, la concessione di una bottega in Piazza Grande, a titolo di livello fino alla quarta generazione. Pietro, poi, ebbe tre figli: Francesco, Maria e Carlo che abitavano insieme un caseggiato di loro proprietà (poscia di proprietà Ancini) in via Spadari, ora via Farini, e nell'ammezzato di esso avevano il negozio di stoffe; e col loro commercio si erano procurate ricchezze ed una molto distinta posizione.
