Nobility crown MorláDice mosén Jaime Febrer que en el sitio de Játiva se hallaba un noble de la Provenza, llamado M., soldado de fortuna, el cual, viendo que un robusto moro de Fez, armado de lanza y escudo, desafiaba a todos, se le puso delante y al primer encuentro le derribó en tierra en presencia del rey. Este, al ver al moro vencido, exclamó: "Muerto le ha como un Cid y merece que en la portada de su casa ponga, campo colorado, la cabeza de Amuley. Yo os hago capitán y os concedo el lugar de Enflorit en Mallorca". Esta familia de M. es antiquísima en la villa de Porreras, que pertenece al partido judicial de Manacor. Otra casa hubo en la villa de Alcudia, cuyos individuos prestaron grandes servicios al emperador Carlos V en sus luchas con los comuneros. Para premiarlos, el mismo monarca les concedió el 14 de octubre de 1525 privilegio de franqueza de derechos municipales.En 1521, Antonio M., hizo un donativo para socorrer a las necesidades de la isla, y en 1533 fue jurado de la ciudad y reino Rafael M. Juan Antonio M. obtuvo del rey don Felipe II privilegio perpetuo de caballero, con fecha 5 de abril de 1572. Gaspar Luis M. fue doctor en ambos Derechos, juez de pariaje y de bienes confiscados, y el 4 de noviembre de 1599 el rey don Felipe II le concedió privilegio de nobleza. En la ciudad de Palma hubo otra casa de M., que acabó en doña Benita M., hija de Antonio Juan M., último varón de ella, que a principios del siglo XVII casó con doña Francisca de Puigdorfila. ...
