Nobility crown MozoEn una certificación dada en Madrid por Pascual de la Rúa el 17 de Noviembre de 1790 a favor de José Ramón de Zúñiga Núñez Dávila Machado y M., natural de Santa Marta, en el Nuevo Reino de Granada, se dice que las noticias genealógicas de esta familia casi desaparecieron en el incendio de la Cámara de los Comptos, en el Reino de Navarra, y traslado de los documentos a la ciudad de Pau, en Francia, por Juan de Labrit, último Soberano de Navarra. Se sabe, sin embargo, que su primitivo solar radicó en la Cendea, Merindad de Pamplona. Flórez de Ocariz cita a Miguel M., que vivía en el Reino de Navarra por los años de 1330 y se distinguió entre los que fueron nombrados para redactar el fuero nuevo. Dicho autor opina que este apellido es originario del Valle de Salazar, cerca del cual está el pueblo de Mozores, pero debe ser Mozares, en la Merindad de Castilla la Vieja y partido judicial de Villarcayo (Burgos). De todos modos hállase comprobado por una ejecutoria de hidalguía, litigada y ganada en juicio contradictorio por Silvestre M., ante el Supremo y Real Consejo de Navarra, en 1773, que este apellido de M., tuvo su casa solariega en la villa de Ochagavia, que hoy pertenece al partido judicial de Aoiz, en Navarra. Sus individuos fundaron después una nueva casa en la villa de Escaroz, del mismo partido judicial. Entroncaron después con los Paría, y abandonando su propio apellido usaron solamente el de París. ...
