Nobility crown MudarraApellido muy extendido por España, originario de la villa de La Mudara, del partido judicial de Medina de Rioseco (Valladolid). Una rama se estableció en San Martín de Valdeiglesias (Madrid), y de ella fue Jerónimo M., natural de San Martín de Valdeiglesias, que casó con doña Isabel Ponce, natural de Mombeltrán, villa del partido judicial de Arenas de San Pedro (Avila), y fueron padres de Jerónimo M. y Ponce, natural de San Martín de Valdeiglesias, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Luisa de Gotor y Mesía, natural de Maqueda villa de la provincia de Toledo (hija de Francisco de Gotor Escobar, natural de Maqueda, y de doña María Mesía, natural de San Martín de Valdeiglesias). De esa unión fue hijo Pedro M. y Gotor, natural de San Martín de Valdeiglesias, Familiar del Santo Oficio y Caballero de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresó el 21 de Mayo de 1625. Se unió en matrimonio con doña Casilda de Herrera y Ayala, natural de Madrid (hija de Diego de Herrera, natural de Madrid y del Real Consejo de Hacienda, y de doña Leonor de Ayala natural de Simancas, Valladolid). Procrearon a Juan M. y Herrera, natural de San Martín de Valdeiglesias y Caballero de la Orden de Alcántara desde 1647. Casó con doña Feliciana de Quiñones y Cabrera, natural de Chinchón, villa de la provincia de Madrid (hija del Doctor Francisco de Quiñones, del Consejo de S. M. y Alcalde de Casa y Corte, y de doña María de Cabrera, ambos de Chinchón). Fueron padres de Pedro M. y Quiñones. El escudo más antiguo del linaje Mudarra es el mencionado en la parte baja de este pergamino pero fue muy utilizado por varias ramas y casas solares el de oro, con cinco bandas de azur y bordura de plata, con ocho sotueres de azur. Con el descubrimiento del Nuevo Mundo, muchos fueron los hombres y mujeres que cruzaron el Atlántico en busca de un nuevo horizonte, y en concreto, los que portando el apellido Mudarra extendieron su linaje por América.
