Nobility crown MugárteguiLinaje originario de la anteiglesia de Berriatúa, del partido judicial de Marquina, en Vizcaya, donde existe la casa solar armera y de cuyos Señores se conoce la filiación documentalmente desde fines del siglo XV. El Doctor Labayru dice que este apellido se escribe de las dos maneras que anteceden y que antiguamente fué conocido también por Muxertegui y Mutsertegui. De su casa solar procedieron Pedro Fernández de M., que asistió a la jura del Rey Católico en Guernica, representando a la Merindad de Busturia, y el Canónigo Magistral de Calahorra, y después de la Metropolitana de Santiago de Compostela, Doctor Antonio de M. Juan Fernández de M., casó con doña Marina de M., y fueron padres de Juan Férnández de M., que casó con doña Teresa de la Renteria, a la que hizo madre de Juan Fernández de M. y de la Renteria, esposo de doña María Ibáñez de Arancibia, en la que tuvo a Juan Fernández de M. e Ibáñez de Arancibia, que en unión de su esposa doña María Ortiz de Garduza y de la Renteria, fundó el 22 de Junio de 1600, ante el Escribano Pedro de Arana, un vínculo y mayorazgo, en cabeza de su sobrino Pedro de Laca y M., con la obligación de ostentar como primer apellido el de Fernández de M. Les sucedió, pues, su sobrino Pedro Fernández de M. y Laca, que celebró su enlace con doña Ana de Ayardia, a la qua hizo madre de Nicolás Fernández de M. y Ayardia, que casó con doña Graciana de Mañozca. ...
