Hallamos casas de este apellido en la isla de Mallorca y en Siete Villas, Montaña de Santander. Los M. de Mallorca poseyeron dos casas solares sitas en la villa de Algaida, llamada una "Munar de la Font", y la otra "Munar de Guingolé", ambas con origen común. También moraron los M. mallorquinos en las villas de Pollensa y de Alaró. Además tuvieron un solar, de antigüedad remotísima, en el lugar llamado "Castell de Amos". Ferrario M., en 1343, prestó sacramento y homenaje al rey don Pedro IV de Aragón, como diputado por la villa de Manacor. Pedro M. de la Font, natural de Algaida, prestó importantes servicios al Rey Don Martín I de Aragón. Este Monarca se los premió concediéndole, el 24 de Julio de 1401, privilegio perpétuo de Caballero y franqueza de derechos municipales. Dicho privilegio fué confirmado por el Rey Don Felipe II, el 12 de Junio de 1572, a favor de Miguel M., descendiente de Pedro. Rafael M., sacerdote y Doctor en ambos Derechos, era Arcediano de la Catedral de Mallorca, en 1632. El Capitán Bartolomé M. sirvió en las guerras de Cataluña durante el reinado de Felipe IV.
