Nobility crown MunibeApellido originario de la anteiglesia de San Andrés de Echevarría, del partido de Marquina, en Vizcaya, en donde hubo, según el Doctor Labayru, dos casas llamadas de Suso y de Yuso. La primitiva casa-torre quedó convertida en caserío de labranza al edificar Juan de M. y Otaola, entre los años 1610-1612, el palacio que hoy existe y que fué emplazado sobre una pequeña eminencia. El vínculo y mayorazgo de M. fué instituído en primero de Octubre de 1619, por doña Jordana Manuel de Arancibia, viuda del citado Juan de M., por escritura otorgada ante el Escribano de Marquina Pedro de Urrusolo, fundándolo en cabeza de su hijo mayor Martín de M. y Arancibia, Caballero de Santiago, que el año 1668 heredó el título de Conde de Peñaflorida con los señoríos de las villas del Molar y Vellón, por el fallecimiento, si sucesión, de Bernardino de Arancibia Sasiola y Eguino. De este ilustre solar viscaíno procedía Lope Antonio de m. y Axpe, Caballero de la Orden de Alcántara, Colegial en el Mayor de San Bartolomé de Salamanca, que fué Abad de la Colegiata de Cenarruza, en Vizcaya, nombrado por Felipe IV Oidor de la Real Audiencia de Lima, donde prestó a la corona relevantes servicios, por lo que le fué otorgado a su hijo primogénito el Marquesado de Valdelirios. Cuarto Marqués de Valderilios fué Gabriel de M. y Tello, del Consejo de Indias y personaje de gran relieve en el reinado de Carlos III. ...
