Les armes de cette maison sont inscrit dans l'Armorial manuscrit de la fin du XVIIème siècle sous le nom de Joseph et André Nogaret (alias Nougaret), habitants des faubourgs de Montravel. Il étaient frères et obtinrent en 1665 des lettres de confirmation de noblesse (Archives départementales de la Gironde, G. 153), au vu desquelles ils produisirent en décembre 1666 devant Montozon à Périgueux. Cette famille relevait à foi et hommage de l'Archevèque de Bordeaux, Joseph de Nogaret, écuyer, sieur de Nogaret, Goujas, Guron, marié à Louise de Ségur, comme fils de Pierre et petit-fils d'Arnaud, rendit hommage à l'Archevêque de Bordeaux en 1671 et 1685 pour les biens nobles qu'il possédait dans Montravel; en 1733 Jacob rendit les mêmes hommages. Une branche vint se fixer en 1671 dans la commune d'Echourgnac par le mariage d'André Nogaret, écuyer, sieur de Toumély avec Jeannette Pichon, veuve de Pierre Giry, écuyer, sieur de la Farasse; il rendit hommage au Roi en 1679 pour ses repaires nobles de la Fôret et de Puyot-Blanc, sis dans Echourgnac. Un de ses descendants, Léon-Auguste, sieur de la Forêt, époux de Marie de la Crompe, y mourut en 1791 (Notes de M. de Saint-Saud). ...
