El Palacio de Novar está en el Valle del Baztán (Navarra). Es este linaje noble y antiguo entroncó con familias muy ilustres de aquel Reino. Doña Ana N. de Santa Cara casó con Bernardino de Fálces, y fueron padres de García de Fálces y N. de Santa Cara, que sirvió largos años a Carlos V y Felipe II en las campañas de Alemania, Flandes e Italia. Se halló en la batalla de Lepanto. Descendiente del Palacio de Novar fué también Lope N., esposo de doña Catalina de Beaumont y ambos padres de Lope N. y Beaumont, que casó con doña Dionisia del Bayo y Cruzat, de la que tuvo a José N. del Bayo, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Gregoria Bayona, naciendo de esta unión María Ana N. Bayona, esposa de Miguel Antillón, que la hizo madre de Manuel de Antillón y N., que en 1695 compareció ante los Tribunales de Navarra alegando que por ser hijodalgo, Señor del Palacio de N. y estar emparentado con las familias más linajudas del Reino, había obtenido gracia de llamamiento a Cortes, y pidió que se mandase convocarlo, a lo que se accedió. Esa misma demanda hizo y consiguió en 1690 Ignacio Barragán de N., vecino de Puente la Reina, hijo de Antonio Barragán y de doña María Polonia de N., y nieto materno de Miguel de N. y de doña Ana de Gorgaya, descendientes también del Palacio de Novar. Juan de N. y Berrueta, vecino de Pitillas y originario del Valle del Baztán y del Palacio de Novar, había solicitado que se le reconociese tal derecho. ...
