Radicaron en la provincia de Cádiz y a esa provincia pertenece la villa de Olvera, es muy probable que sean originarios de ésta y que tomaran su nombre por apellido. La rama de O. radicada en Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz) y de la que dimanó la línea establecida en la República del Ecuador. Alonso de O. y Cárdenas, natural de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, casó allí con doña Clementa de O., de igual naturaleza, y fueron padres de El Capitán Lázaro de O. y O., natural de Sanlúcar de Barrameda, que se estableció en Guayaquil, República del Ecuador, donde fué Alcalde Mayor Provincial de la Santa Hermandad en 1689-1701, y Alcalde ordinario del Cabildo en 1709. Testó en la población de San Francisco de Baba el 2 de Julio de 1737, ante el Capitán Francisco Rodríguez Plaza, Teniente de Corregidor de aquella población. Contrajo matrimonio con doña Juana de la Rocha y del Salto, de igual naturaleza (hija legítima del Capitán Juan de La Rocha, natural de los Reinos de España, Tesorero de las Reales Cajas en la ciudad de San Gregorio de Portoviejo, y de doña Luisa del Salto y Leiva, nacida en Portoviejo, ésta, a su vez, hija legítima del Capitán Cristóbal del Salto y de doña María de Leiva). Tuvieron estos hijos: Catalina de O. y La Rocha, fallecida en Baba, bajo testamento que otorgó el 19 de Junio de 1751. Casó con Fernando de Vera y de la Torre Rendón. Con descendencia. El Capitán Alonso de O. y La Rocha, Alcalde de la Santa Hermandad en 1714. ...
