Nobility crown PalatinusAntichissima prosapia europea, le cui origini cognominali affondano nel celebre ed omonimo colle ove, secondo la leggenda, ebbe origine la città di Roma e da cui ha preso il nome anche il Palatinato, regione storica e geografica della Germania. I primi nobili riferimenti al casato si hanno però in Francia ove, sin dal XII secolo, fioriva nella Borgogna la stirpe dei Palatin. Il primo personaggio di cui abbiamo menzione storica certa è infatti un Uldric Palatin, fiorito nel 1186. Il ramo primogenito di questo casato si è estinto nei Dyot quando, nel 1336, Alix Palatin, figlia ed erede di Guillaume Palatin, sposò il nobile Guyot Dyo. I rami collaterali diramarono però in altre regioni europee e continuarono a fiorire pur adottando variazioni cognominali come Palatinus in Germania e Palatino nel Nord Italia. Ed infatti in territorio germanico troviamo un Hugo Palatinus, fiorente all'epoca di Carlo IV imperatore, nella Bassa Sassonia. ...
