Escriben algunos tratadistas que este apellido es originario de la capital de Francia, cuyo nombre tomó, y que de allí pasó a España. Otros dicen, entre ellos Ambrosio de Salazar, en su "Historia de París", y Diego de Urbina, que en el año de 1544, un caballero español realizó tal hazaña para entrar en París, que Carlos V le premió dándole por armas las que tenía aquella población. Pero las noticias comprobadas referentes a este linaje acusan que la familia P. era muy antigua en Navarra, y que algunas de sus ramas pasaron a Guipúzcoa. Don Pedo de P. fué Obispo de Pamplona y fundó el Monasterio de Frales Bernardo en el lugar de Iranzu, en cuyo claustro se veían las armas de su apellido. Y en las villas navarras de Escároz, Ochagavia e Izalzu, pertenecientes al partido judicial de Aoiz, hubo casas de esta familia. Matías P., natural de Escároz, casó con doña Graciana Ochoa, natural de Ochagavia, y procrearon a Juan P. y Ochoa, natural de Ochagavia, que se unió en matrimonio con doña Juana Sarriés, natural de Izalzu, naciendo de ese enlace Juan Francisco P. Ochoa, natural de Izalzu, que se cruzó Caballero de la Orden de Calatrava en el año de 1746. Unas de las ramas que pasó a Guipúzcoa moró en la villa de Usúrbil, del partido de San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa). Ocha de P. representó a la mencionada villa en la Junta General celebrada en Guetaria en 1397. Otro Ochoa Pérez de P. fué elegido árbitro para dirimir ciertas diferencias surgidas en 1402, entre Leizalde y, Juan Beltrán. ...
