Nobility crown PastissonBonne bourgeoisie de Roche-en-Régnier. On trouve son nom diversement écrit Pastel (latin: Pastelli), Pestel, Pesteils et Pesteilh. Jean, licencié ès lois, est qualifié juge de la baronnie de Roche et des terres de la maison de Lévis en Vivarais et Valentinois, le 2 janvier 1428. Hélias, bailli de Tournon, vivait en 1513. Messire Pierre est dit prêtre de Chomelix, le 16 mai 1555, et Étienne Pastel, marchand de la ville de Roche, le 30 mars 1559. Honorable homme, Morinot, lieutenant-général des baronnies de St-Just et de Chomelix (1580-1601), avait épousé Françoise de Chardon. Christophe, de Roche-en Régnier, était bailli de Hautvilar près Vernoux (Vivarais) en 1602). Deux branches: l'une fixée à Craponne, l'autre établie à St-Just près llègre, le 2 septembre 1710, par l'alliance de François, chirurgien aide-major des hôpitaux de l'armée du roi d'Espagne avec Isabeau Boutaud de la Clède. Des prêtres et religieux bénédicins; un missionnaire de ste-Colombe en Dauphiné, docteur en théologie. Son frère Vital, né en 1712 mort en 1787, docteur en droit, fut agrégé en 1763, puis doyen de la faculté de droit de Montpellier. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille.
