Nobility crown PeirencFamille de très humble origine qui dut son élévation rapide à Abraham, lequel, après avoir fait une fortune considérable en trafiquant des billets de banque et des actions de la Compagnie des Indes, devint seigneur de Moras en Brie, maître des requêtes ordinaires, acquit le 3 octobre 1719 des de Polignac la seigneurie de St-Pal-en-Chalencon et, à peu près à la même époque, quantité d'autres terres titrées en Auvergne et Forez. François Peyrenc de Moras, son fils, secrétaire du roi, intendant d'Auvergne (1750-52), du Hainaut (1753), conseiller d'État et contrôleur général des finances, fut nommé ministre de la marine le premier fevrier 1757. Un commissaire aux requêtes du Palais (1743); un gentilhomme ordinaire de la maison du roi (1725). Nobles alliances. A ce nom, on attribue un signe distinctif de noblesse représenté par le blason que l'on a reproduit ci-contre et qui confirme aussi à travers ses emblêmes, au point de vue historique et héraldique la certitude d'une valeur remarquable.
