Elle a pour auteur: Valentin, notaire royal du Puy, l'un des généreux fondateurs en 1525 de l'hôpital du Clos St-Sébastien destiné à recevoir les pestiférés, père de Pierre 6me consul du Puy (1568), greffier des présentations en la sénéchaussée de cette ville et procureur fondé d'Antoine de la Tour baron de St-Vidal, gouverneur du Velay, dans un acte du 31 janvier 1585. Leur descendance compte: des chanoines de Notre-Dame; de nombreux consuls du Puy; des avocats en parlement; des magistrats; des officiers dans les armées du roi, deux d'entre eux portés sur la liste des émigrés de la Haute-Loire et s'est éteinte au XIXème siècle par trois filles dans les familles: Fabre (de Paulhaguet), Paul et le Deschault.
