La stirpe dei Perbono o Perboni, già Petrobono (Petrus Bonus), secondo il Ghilini, proveniva da quella di Ponzone, la quale originava da uno dei sette figli del marchese Aleramo Duca di Sassonia, e di Adelasia, figlia dell'imperatore Ottone I, vissuto negli anni attorno al 974.
