En el lugar de Hoz de Anero, del Ayuntamiento de Ribamontán al Monte, en el partido judicial de Santoña y provincia de Santander, estaba la casa solar de P. Y el primero de este apellido que aparece en los libros parroquiales de dicho pueblo es Sancho Ruiz del P., que también figura en un padrón de hidalguía del año 1605, Casó con doña Isabel de Agüero, en quien tuvo a Juan del P. y Agüero, natural de Hoz de Anero, marido de doña Ana de Güemes y de Isla y ambos padres de Francisco del P. y de Güemes, natural de Hoz de Anero, y casado allí, el 24 de Enero de 1644, con doña Catalina de Cagigal. Procrearon a Francisco del P. Cagigal, bautizado en Hoz el 18 de Septiembre de 1650, y José del P. Cagigal, que sigue. Este José del P. Cagigal, bautizado en Hoz el 1 de Abril de 1668, contrajo matrimonio en el mismo pueblo, el 22 de Febrero de 1688, con doña Jerónima de la Vega Acevedo (hija de Diego de Acevedo y de la Vega, Señor de las casas de Toraya y Acevedo, y de doña María de Acevedo y Bracamonte), naciendo de esa unión Francisco Antonio del P. y de la Vega, Josefa, María Agustina, María Rosa, José, Jerónimo, Ana María, Antonia Agustina, Catalina P. y de la Vega. El primero de esos nueve hermanos, Francisco Antonio del P. y de la Vega, fué bautizado en Hoz el 1 de Noviembre de 1694 y falleció allí el 5 de Marzo de 1762.
