Oriunda di Courgnè nel Canavese, poi in Ivrea, la famiglia vanta fra i suoi antenati Domenico, che nel 1616 consegnava ai delegati del duca di Savoia, Carlo Emanuele I, lo stemma della comunità di Cuorgnè; Lorenzo, insinuatore a Ivrea, e Domenico, credendario ad Ivrea. Domenico (dec. nel 1703), procreò Giuseppe Antonio e Pietro Giuseppe, che diedero luogo a due linee.
