Nobility crown PizzaAntico casato lombardo, il quale ha dato alla patria ben cinque decurioni, dei quali, il primo, fu Giovannino, nel 1336, e, l'ultimo, fu Girolamo, nel 1420. La famiglia, sin dal XV secolo, ebbe dimora in Cremona, ottenendo, nel detto secolo, la concessione del titolo di nobile. Nel tardo XV secolo, un ramo dei Pizza passò a nel Regno di Napoli, ponendo la propria residenza nel nolano. Inoltre, al dir di illustri genealogisti, verosimilmente, fregiato del cavalierato, in seguito alla partecipazione, sotto i vessilli aragonesi, connotata da coraggio e virtù, di un Carlo Pizza alla guerra d'Otranto, del 1481, contro gli ottomani. Ma, d'altronde, la famiglia, sempre, riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, ricordiamo: Carlo Maria, cameriere della regina Giovanna II; Michelangelo, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, vivente in Napoli, nel 1521; Nicola, "avvocato dei poveri", vivente in Nola, nel 1545; Orazio, ...
