Nobility crown PomeysCette maison, dont le nom primitif était Martin, sieur des Pomeys, paraît originaire de Saint-Just-en-Chevalet, en Forez, où son nom se rencontre fréquemment dès la première moitié du XVIème siècle. Elle a possédé en toute justice, les fiefs d'Azieu et celui des Pomeys, situés dans la paroisse de Saint-Thomas-le-Garde, près de Montbrison, et dont noble André-François-Martin, conseiller au bailliage de Montbrison, rendit l'hommage, le 23 décembre 1776, et en a fourni le dénombrement, le 5 septembre 1777. Sa filiation commence à Messire Jean Martin, procureur en l'élection de Forez à Montbrison et châtellenie de l'Hôpital-le-Grand, qui épousa demoiselle Madeleine de Perey. Nous croyons qu'il fut père de :1° Jeanne, baptisée dans l'église de Saint-Pierre-de-Monbrison, le 30 janvier 1633; 2° Jean, baptisé le 26 avril 1635; 3° Jean-Baptiste; 4° Claude, qui suit; 5° Anne, décédée en la paroisse de Saint-André, le 1er novembre 1702, étant veuve de François de Saint-Priest, écuyer, seigneur d'Albuzy. Noble Claude, avocat en Parlement, conseiller du Roi au bailliage de Forez, épousa dans l'église Sainte-Madeleine-de Montbrison, le 30 octobre 1667 demoiselle Anne Tupier, fille de M. Messire Tupier, conseiller au bailliage et sénéchaussée de Forez et de demoiselle Antoinette Mages, desquels descendait: Margeurite, née le 7 mai 1771, hèritière de sa maison, qui épousa à Montbrison, le 28 fructidor an III, Joseph-Toussaint Anselme qui a relevé le nom des Pomeys, né à Montoufin (Vaucluse), le 1er novembre 1771. ...
