Nobility crown PonzoAntica ed assai nobile famiglia toscana originaria del territorio di Siena propagata, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni del Regno. Altra famiglia. Antica famiglia piemontese, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione, al dir di illustri genealogisti, andrebbe ricercata nel nomen latino "Pontius", appartenuto, probabilmente, ad un, oggi ignoto, capostipite. In ogni modo, tal casato , verosimilmente, venne fregiato del cavalierato in seguito alla virtuosa e coraggiosa partecipazione di un Raimondo Ponzo, sotto i vessilli del "Conte Rosso", ovvero Amedeo VII, alla conquista, nel 1388, di uno sbocco al mare con Nizza, uno dei capisaldi del potere della Casa Savoia in Piemonte. Ma, d'altronde, tal casato, sempre, riuscì a distinguersi, grazie agli elevati personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, senza nulla levar al valore degli omessi, ricordiamo: Francesco, ingegnere camerale in Milano, nel 1494; Ascanio, ...
