Nobility crown PujolFamille de robe de la ville de Montpellier. Filiation depuis noble Bernard Pujol, marié à Béatrix de Villepoix, lequel testa à Beaucaire le 30 août 1466. La branche intéressant le Velay remonte à noble Antoine Pujol, procureur en la Cour des coptes de Montpellier, marié à Anne de Gévaudan, père de Jean Pujol, receveur général des gabelles de Languedoc, receveur des tailles du Velay qui, déclaré en 1669 avec ses frères Jacques et Guillaume, comme issu de noble race et lignée, fut condamné avec les mêmes, par M. de Bezons, intendant du Languedoc (jugement du 18 décembre 1670), vu la dérogeance de leur père. Il épousa au Puy Marguerite de Revissac, devint conseiller du roi et, ayant acquis du vicomte de Polignac, le 20 mai 1676, la vicomté de Beaufort paroisse de Goudet, fut inhumé le 9 septembre 1678 en l'église St-Pierre-le-Monastier. Son fils, noble Guillaume seigneur de Beaufort, St-Martin-de-Fugères, etc., conseiller en la cour des aides de Montpellier, fut rèhabilité dans sa noblesse par lettres du 16 août 1713 et s'allia à Louise-Françoise de Pinhac de la Borie, d'où: Louis-Hercule, qui vendit en 1733, à Jean de Laval, la vicomté de Beaufort. Cette masion a été possessionnée au XVIIIème siècle, en Forez, des terres de la Tourette, Gaite et Aboin, par suite d'héritage de Catherine de Pinhac de la Borie veuve de Genest de Vinols. De nombreux conseillers au parlement de Montpellier; des conseillers-secrétaires du roi; plusieurs capitaines de cavalerie; un chevau-léger de la garde ordinaire du roi, chevalier de St-Louis; des officiers aux dragons de la Reine. Convoquée en 1789 à l'assemblée de la noblesse du Forez. ...
