Nobility crown QuintanillaFamilias de este apellido tuvieron casas solariegas en Asturias, en la Montaña de Santander, en Medina del Campo (Valladolid), en diversas localidades de la provincia de Sevilla y en Alcalá de Henares. Y nos concretamos en esta relación a mencionar aquellas de las que hemos encontrado algunos datos genealógicos de garantía. La familia Q. asturiana tenía antiguo solar a media legua escasa de la ciudad de Oviedo, en el sitio que llamaban Cagigal y poseía muchos bienes en el Concejo de Siero y en el lugar de Bobes (del concejo de Siero), donde vivió. En mediados del siglo XIV era Señora de dicho solar Orosia Álvarez de Q., que casó con Luis Álvarez de Quirós, descendiente de la noble y antigua casa asturiana de Quirós, y procrearon a Alonso Q., que usó el primer lugar el apellido materno. Este caballero sirivó a don Enrique IV de Castilla y a los Reyes Católicos, de quienes fué Contador Mayor. Lo pondera Nebrija en su Historia. La Santa Hermandad se instituyó por consejo de dicho don Alonso y contribuyó a que marchase Colón al descubrimiento de América con el empeño que puso en persuadir a los Monarcas y más altos personajes de la Cortes de léxito que tal empresa alcanzaría. Así lo refieren Marino Sículo y otros autores. También influyó para establecer el Triunal de la Inquisición. Contrajo matrimonio con doña Aña o Aldara de Ludeña. Don Alonso de Q. fué enterrado con su mujer y sus padres en el Convento de Santa Clara de la ciudad de Oviedo. ...
