Apelldio asturiano. De Luarca, desde donde, se extendió por toda la Península. En Canarias se estableció este familia a mediados del Siglo XVI. Procedía de Sorihuela, término de Béjar en la provincia de Salamanca. Bartolomé Díaz de R., se estableció ne Teror, donde contrajo matrimono con Dpoña Juana Domínguez, a cuyo favor otorgó escritura de dote ne Las Palmas, el 8 de octubre de 1568. De este enlace hubo trece hijos; la primera, Lucía Díaz del R., mujer del Diego Falcón, jefe la línea menor de la Casa de su apellido en Gran Canaria; el sexto, Pedro Díaz del R., que continúa la línea. Caso Pedro del R., en la Vega de Santa Brigada, el día 16 de junio de 1602, con Sebastiana Martínez Pérez y tuvo seis hijos, continuando la sucesión el primogénito, Don Manuel Pérez del R.. Tomó el primer apellido de su abuelo materno, Manuel Pérez. Manuel Pérez del R. fue bautizado en La Vega el 13 de noviembre de 1605 y casó en Telde el 8 de mayo de 1639, con Doña Sebastiana del Castillo. Tuvieron tres hijos, continuando la línea el primogénito, Don Juan del R. y Castillo, nacido en Telde el primero de junio de 1644. Con este Juan del R. que casó en Las Palmas el 21 de mayo de 1678, con Doña Mariana de Loreto, se inicia ya esta rama de primer apellido "Del R.", abandonando el compuesto que usaban sus antepasados. Enlazó con la prestigiosa Casa de Lugo y perteneció también a esta familia, Don Rafael Guerra del R., que fue ministro durante la República. ...
