of Vito, Body guard on horseback in 1860; the previous Nicola, coming from the "Fellowship of the Royal Guards," Baron's son Filippo, 2nd Lieutenant of the "Battalion of the Royal Guard Tiragliatori", took part in the defense of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies from the invasion Piedmontese in the campaign of 1860/61. The family received "for justice" in S. M. O. Knight of Malta with Nicola, from Lecce, in 1857 (the Grand Magisterium Rome, Priory of Naples, process 327) and already since 1687 with the branch of Taranto (Rome Grand Magisterium, family trees n. 486). The title of Baron of of Cassineto was renewed with R. D. 13 March 1927, and RR. LL. PP. (The Royal Letters Patent) of July 27, 1928 in the person of Andrea. Inscribed in the Golden Book of Italian Nobility, enrolled in the Official Italian Noble List, year 1922. Motto of the family: Malo mor iquam foedari. Family names so old, without any doubt, honor not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious persons.
