Alte venezianischen Familie mit Sitz in Venedig, genannt Real oder Reali, die etwa in der Mitte des XIX. Jahrhunderts ihren Reichtum durch Landgewinnung in den venezianischen Tälern erworben hat.
Als Anerkennung der Verdienste dieser Familie wurde an Joseph am 15. Mai 1855 von der österreichischen Regierung der Adelstitel des österreichischen Kaiserreichs verliehen. Der Sohn von diesen, Antonio, zum Senator ernannt, erhielt auch das Ehrenkreuz des Malteserordens. Joseph erhielt persönlich auf eigene Initiative am 16. Dezember 1926 und RR.LL den Titel eines Grafen.

Die Familie wurde in das Goldene Buch des italienischen Adels mit dem Adelstitel des österreichischen Kaiserreichs (Männer und Frauen) eingetragen und Graf (Pers.) in der Person von Joseph, geboren am 26. Juni 1877in Venedig, Sohn von Antonio di Giuseppe verheiratet mit Amelia Pigazzi. Schwestern:
Teresa in Canossa und Maria in Lucheschi.
Ein anderer Zweig. Alte Adelsfamilie aus Sizilien. Diese Familie besaß im XVII. Jahrhundert das Anwesen von Solicchiara.
