Originaria di Recco nella riviera orientale. Furono anziani della Repubblica Nicolò di Recco nel 1346; Enrico nel 1352; Giovanni nel 1439; Raffaele nel 1499. Quest'ultimo, nel 1487, era stato uno dei padroni di dieci galere armate in Genova contro i Fiorentini. Giovanni nel 1495 fu dei sindacatori, nel 1496 uffiziale di Gazaria, e nel 1499 podestà di San Remo. Nel 1528 furono ascritti alla nobiltà genovese, ed aggregati all'Albergo Cibo Battista di Gottardo, Giovanni-Agostino, Simone, Stefano e Nicolò di Simone tutti della casa Recco. Altro ramo. Un ramo di questa nobile famiglia nel 1443 passò da Napoli a Lucera, alla cui nobiltà venne tosto aggregato, e vi acquistò il feudo di Tertiveri. Altra famiglia alzò per arma.
