Allí tuvo dos antiguas y nobles casas solariegas: una en la villa de Colindres, del partido judicial de Laredo, y otra en el lugar de Novales, del Ayuntamiento del Valle de Alfoz de Lloredo y partido judicial de San Vicente de la Barquera. Los descendientes de la casa de Colindres se apellidaron Gil de la R., y los de la casa del lugar de Novales, Díaz de la R. Otra familia, apellidada de R., radicó en la villa de Santa María de Nieva (Segovia) y en Segovia, y era también antigua y noble. A la casa de la villa de Colindres perteneció El Capitán Pedro Gil de la R., natural de Colindres, Juez y Contador de la Real Hacienda en Cartagena de Indias. Contrajo matrimonio en Colindres con doña Antonia de Bolívar y Alvarado, de la misma naturaleza, naciendo de esta unión Luisa Gil de la R. y Alvarado, natural de Colindres, que también aparece apellidada con la supresión del Gil. Casó con Juan de Laiseca y Alvarado, nacido en San Miguel de Aras, lugar del Ayuntamiento de Junta de Voto y partido judicial de Laredo, Colegial del Mayor de San Bartolomé de Salamanca, Secretario de Su Majestad y Caballero de Santiago. Tuvieron, entre otros, los siguientes hijos: Antonio, Pedro, Tomás y Juan de Laiseca Alvarado y de la R., los cuatro Caballeros de la Orden de Santiago, en la que ingresaron en los años 1638, 1637, 1651 y 1658, respectivamente.
