Nobility crown RemusatCette famille remonte au XVème siècle; elle se livra au XVIIIème au commerce maritime. Louis Remusat, seigneur de Saint-Antoin, fut consul d'Aix en 1604. Un membre de cette maison fut avocat-général près la cour des comptes de Provence en 1782. Sous l'empire elle obtint le titre de comte en la personne de M. de Remusat, premier chambellan de l'empereur Napoléon Ier. Le comte Charles fut ministre de l'intérieur sous Louis-Philippe. Le nom de Remusat est un des plus anciens de la Provence. La famille possède un titre d'installation de viguier de Marseille qui remonte au 16 avril 1365, extrait des archives de cette ville en faveur de Guillaume, chevalier, seigneur de Montmaurin. Il y est qualifié: nobilis et egregius vir, dominus Guillelmus de remusat, miles, dominus Montismaurini. Elle a obtenu des lettres de maintenue en août 1817, sur les preuves faites en remontant jusqu'a son septième aïeul qui était qualifié noble en 1442. La plupart des membres de cette famille à résidé à Marseille. La distinction familiale représentée ici sous forme de blason, survit à travers les siècles grâce à des précieux témoignages qui nous ont permis de rapporter les exploits et les gestes de cette noble famille.
