Pedro López de Ayala dice que su primitivo solar estaba más abajo de San Pedro de Garragoechea (Vizcaya), en un lugar eminente llamado Bar-Kugi, que significa grande peña. Tenía mucha antigüedad. Como progenitor del linaje aparece citado Alvar R., valeroso caballero que se halló en la batalla de Clavijo. Otro antiguo ascendiente de esta familia fué Fermín R., que en el reinado de don Alfonso VI de Castilla era Consejero de su hija doña Urraca. Casó con una señora originaria de Aragón, del linaje de Beramuy, y en ella tuvo cuatro hijos que se esparcieron por Castilla, disfrutando siempre de los honores y prerrogativas de los hijodalgos. Pedro R. prestó buenos servicios a los Reyes Católicos. Una rama radicó en Bilbao, y figura como descendiente de ella Pedro R., marido de doña Isabel Pulido Verdugo, y ambos padres de José R. Pulido, natural de Salamanca y Tesorero de la Real Casa de la Moneda de Santa Fe de Bogotá (Colombia), que contrajo matrimonio con doña Ana de León Castellanos, en quien tuvo a José Salvador R., casado con doña Francisca Terreros Villarreal. Procrearon a Rafael R. y Terreros, que sigue, y Antonio Vicente R. y Terreros, que obtuvo certificación de hidalguía y armas expedida en Madrid el 4 de Abril de 1719, por don Antonio Hozer Sarmiento, Rey de Armas de Felipe V, de la que se dió traslado al Cabildo de Santa Fe de Bogotá, a pedimento de don Antonio Vicente, siendo confirmada y refrendada por don Francisco Navarro Peláez el 20 de Noviembre de 1746. ...
