Muy antiguo linaje de Cataluña, con casas solares en la villa de Monistrol, del partido judicial de Manresa y provincia de Barcelona; en la villa de Sant Pol de Mar, de la baronía de Llobregat y partido judicial de Arenys de Mar, en la misma provincia, y en el pueblo de Subirats, del partido judicial de Vilafranca del Penedés, que también pertenece a la provincia de Barcelona. Pasó a Valencia y Mallorca. En 1254 era comendador de Alguayre, en la Orden de San Juan de Jerusalén, Bernardo de R. De la villa catalana de Sant Pol de Mar, pasó con mucha ostentación a la conquista de Valencia, el caballero Guillermo R., muy osado y valiente, que mostró su ardor militar en cuantas ocasiones se le presentaron durante la campaña, acreditando su alto espíritu y noble sangre, con gran satisfacción del rey aragonés don Jaime I "el Conquistador", que gozaba mucho viéndole pelear. Dicho monarca premió sus proezas dándole la villa de Oliva, del partido judicial de Gandía. En Mallorca ya era la familia R. una de las más arraigadas en la villa de Muro cuando el rey don Alonso III de Aragón conquistó, en 1285, la isla de Mallorca a don Jaime II de ese reino. Todas las poblaciones de Mallorca, en aquella ocasión, nombraron síndicos para prestar juramento de fidelidad al citado monarca aragonés, figurando entre los designados por la villa de Muro, Pedro, Berengario y Antonio R. como personas principales de la localidad. ...
