Antiguo y noble llinaje mallorquín. Jaime R. llegó a la isla de Mallorca con el Rey don Alfonso III de Aragón, y fué el fundador de la casa de su familia en la ciudad de Palma. Murió en el año 1286. El capitán R. de Burguet sirvió a los Reyes Católicos en la guerra de Granada, y luego a Felipe I "el Hermoso". Falleció el 1 de Julio de 1516. Otro Jaime R. y Girón fué premiado por el Emperador Carlos V, en atención a su buenos servicios y a los de sus ascendientes, con el Hábito de la Orden de Calatrava, y esta merced fué tan generosa, que en el Real despacho, dado en Madrid el 16 de Marzo de 1525, se hacía extensiva a sus sucesores varones, dándoles facultad para poder elegir el hábito de Alcántara o el de Calatrava, sin sujetarlos a la presentación de pruebas de nobleza, alto honor, en verdad, para la familia R. Este don Jaime trasladó su residencia en la ciudad de Palma a la villa de Petra, donde fundó nueva casa, falleciendo el 14 de Febrero de 1558. En virtud de la citada merced que habíale sido concedida por Carlos V, con derecho hereditario, fueron: Jaime R. Alzem, Caballero de Calatrava, fallecido en Petra en 1585; Jaime R. Nicolau, Caballero de Alcántara, fallecido en Petra en 1618; Jaime R. Homar, Caballero de Calatrava, y Francisco R. y Riera, Caballero de Alcántara. Este último sirvió al Rey don Carlos II en todas sus guerras y murió en Petra en 1737. Su hijo; Jaime R.y Savin, fué Brigadier del Cuerpo de Ingenieros y murió en Nápoles en 1760. ...
