Grande race dont l'origine se perd dans la nuit des temps. Raimond, fils Séguin, fait une fondation à l'abbaye de Saint-Guillem en 1080, Adelaïde, fille unique du précédent, épouse en 1109, Bernard Bermond, seigneur d'Anduze, issu des comtes de Nimes, qui rit le nom de Roquefeuil et battit monnaie à son nom, ainsi que son fils et son petit-fils Raimond III, dont la fille unique Isabeau, fut mariée en 1230 à Hugues, comte de Rodez; Bertrands, grand maître du Temple, mort en 1168. Suivant la Ch. des B., Arnaud, religieux de Saint-François, frère puîné de Raimond III, se fit relever de ses voœux pour prévenir l'extinction de sa maison, et substitua à ses anciennes armes la cordelière de son ordre. Il épousa en 1227, Béatrix Bermond d'Anduze, veuve de Sanche, roi de Navarre. Arnaud II fit la paix avec Jacques, roi de Majorque, par l'entremise du pape Clément VI en 1348. Une branche établie au XIIIème siècle en Espagne où elle a été élevée à la Grandesse, s'est éteinté en 1712. Un autre branche établie en Bretagne a produit depuis 1741 un chef d'escadre, un lieutenant-général des armées navales et un vice-amiral et s'est alliée aux Dangerez, Kerguz, du Beaudiez, Lambilly, Cillart, la Lande-Colan, Forsanz, Jégou du Laz, du Cleuz du Gage, Harsouët, Lesguern, le Borgne de la Tour, Kerouartz, Artut de Keralio et Suasse. Deux membres admis aux honneurs de la cour en 1755 et 1771; deux membres fusillés à Quiberon en 1795; un capitaine de dragons tué à l'ennemi au combat de Saint-Georges de la Couée, près Saint-Calais, en 1871. ...
