Si vuole originaria dalla originaria dalla Savoia e godette nobiltà in Palermo. Un Giovanni e un Pietro, fratelli, il 20 marzo 1775 ottennero un attestato di nobiltà dal senato di Parlamento; detto Pietro acquistò salme 260 dal feudo Gasena o Piano, ottenendone investitura il 4 maggio 1792 e fu primo marchese di San Ferdinando per real privilegio del 28 aprile 1799, esecutoriato il 16 febbraio 1808 a favore del figlio Francesco, che, il 15 marzo 1808, otteneva pure investitura delle salme 260 di Gasena o Piano. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Ufficiale Nobiliare Italiano coi titolo di marchese di S. Ferdinando (mf.), signore di 260 salme di Gasena (mpr.). Altro ramo.
